CONNEAUT — Margaret Keithe (McDonald) Davey, of Monroe Township, Ohio, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at UH-Conneaut Medical Center.
Margaret Keithe Davey, age 93, was born June 1, 1919, in Montreal, Canada, and was the only child of Ralph and Sarah (McKinnon) McDonald.
Margaret graduated from East Orange High School in New Jersey. After high school, Margaret attended and graduated in 1938 from Traphagan Fashion Design of New York City.
While attending a University of Pennsylvania social event, she met and later married her husband, John Davey IV.
They were married in 1942, in the First Episcopal Church of Pittsburgh, Pa. Margaret spent many of her 54 years of marriage in northern Ohio as a homemaker, and caretaker of her four children.
She belonged to the All Saints Episcopal Church Altar Guild of Parma Heights, Ohio. Margaret and John Davey retired to Conneaut in 1992, where she was a member of the Conneaut Quilters’ Guild and the Conneaut Community Center for the Arts. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlework, crocheting and embroidery.
Margaret is survived by her children, JoAnn Davey, Diane Davey and John Davey V, all of Monroe Township, Ohio. She had six grandchildren, Todd, Nancy, Diane, Michelle, Danielle and Amanda; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son, Michael A. Davey.
There will be a Celebration of Margaret’s Life held at the family’s home, 6121 Weaver Road, Monroe Township, Ohio, on Saturday, July 28th, from 2 to 4 p.m.
