SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP —
Lillian Elizabeth Czarzasty-Duff, age 82, of North Bend Road, passed away peacefully Monday, April 9, 2012, at her home.
She was born July 3, 1929, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Marie (Stillwell) Randolph and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.
A 1948 graduate of Ashtabula High School, she worked as a finisher for North American Rockwell Plastics, prior to her retirement.
Lillian was a dynamic lady and was highly competitive when playing board games, cards and dice with her family. In the summer, she was thrilled to play croquet and badminton, especially with her grandchildren, and if they won, they truly earned it. A lover of country music, she was active at the Ashtabula Senior Center and enjoyed cooking, being known for her large stacks of delicious pancakes.
Her survivors include three daughters, Kathy (Jimmie) Moore of Conneaut and Brenda Newsome and Shirley (George) Ferguson, both of Ashtabula; three step-children, Lucy (Rollie) DelPrince and Anthony (Barbara) Cararo, both of Ashtabula and Tom (Mary) Duff of Georgia; seven grandchildren, Chuck Moore, Belinda Newsome, Thomas Schoville, Rebecca Melaragno, Stacey Budy, Julie Perkins and Tina Woissol; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Randolph of Kingsville; and her companion of 7 years, John Holman, who now lives in California.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of over 40 years, Edward Czarzasty in 1993; her second husband, William Duff; her son-in-law, William Newsome Jr.; her step-son, Bill Duff; two sisters, Nadia Scott and Dorothy “Dot” Koene; four brothers, Robert, William, Harold and Jerry Randolph; and her parents.
Calling Hours will be held Saturday, April 14th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Noon, with a Service to be held at 12 p.m., Noon, at the DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. Pastor Larry Emery, of Bible Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
