HARTVILLE — John Ferrando Sr., age 75, of Hartville, Ohio, passed away at his home on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012.
Born July 29, 1937, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of the late Sam and Lucia (Rocco) Ferrando.
A Veteran, he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Chrysler after 31 years.
Survivors include his loving wife, Wilda "Tink" (Vance) Ferrando; daughter, Kimberly (Jim) Tekavec; sons, John (Lisa) Ferrando and Jimmy Ferrando; grandchildren, Mark (Jen) Skonieczny, Julia, Nicholas, Rachael, Matthew, Maria and Abbey; sisters, Carmella Rung, Linda Dennis and Kathy Deitz; and brothers, Junior Sams and Chuck Sams.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Holden.
Memorial Calling Hours will be held at SHORTS-SPICER-CRISLIP FUNERAL HOME, Streetsboro Chapel, 9781 Page Road, Streetsboro, Ohio 44241, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18th, where a Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Carpenter Road, Ashtabula, on Friday, Oct. 19th, at 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, family asks donations to be made to the Crossroads Hospice or Alzheimer's Assoc.
