GIRARD, Pa. —
William D. “Woody” Woods, age 83, of Girard, Pa. and former resident of Conneaut, Ohio, died Tuesday evening, August 14, 2012, at Edinboro Manor in Edinboro, Pa.
He was born August 4, 1929, in Brackenridge, Pa., the son of Claire and Edna (Wilhelm) Woods. He was a graduate of Tarentum (Pa.) High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He had been employed at General Electric in Erie as a machinist. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed golfing, playing cards and family get-togethers.
Survivors include his daughter, Beth (Joseph “Buck”) Drakes of Girard, Pa.; his son, Greg (Georgia) Woods of Conneaut, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kyle and Eric of Conneaut; his sister, Faye Brown of Saxonburg, Pa.; and his friend and former wife, Jean Woods of Conneaut, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine Woods; three sisters; and four brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 18th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Philip Miller, pastor of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Churches, officiating.
