CLEVELAND — M. (Marion) Lucille Freeman, age 84, of E. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Monroe Township, Ohio, the daughter of Lyman L. and Marion E. (Peck) Ruland and had been a life-long area resident.
She graduated from Ashtabula High School, class of 1943, and was employed by the Industrial Rayon IRC in Painesville, Ohio for 30+ years.
She was married to her beloved husband Irvin (Tex) Freeman on Oct. 17, 1944, in Jefferson, Ohio.
Mrs. Freeman enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens, bird watching, classic movies and puzzles.
Survivors include four children, Sharon (Paul) Kohta of Jefferson, Larry (Gay) Freeman of Carlisle, Pa., David (Ginnie) Freeman of Apopka, Fla. and Jamie (Rick) Chervinski of Conneaut; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Ruland of Ashtabula; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irvin in 1994; brothers, Laville, Stanley, Wilbur and Robert Ruland; sister, Evelyn Tryon; granddaughter, Cynthia Gagat in 2007; and her beloved Bichon, “Lulu” of 17 years.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 1st, at CHILDS & WILLIAMS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1440 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Burial will be held privately at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 10 a.m., Monday, prior to the Service, at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106. Mrs. Freeman was a breast cancer survivor. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
