CONNEAUT — Meribah D. McMillin, age 95, of Pierpont, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at the Villa at the Lake.
Born April 15, 1917, in Pierpont, she was the daughter of John and Ruth (Sheldon) Brayman. A graduate of Ashtabula High School, Meribah was a resident of Pierpont most of her life but had resided in Westfield, N.Y., for several years.
Meribah worked for the Ashtabula County Planning Commission, she retired in 1997 after 20 years of service.
She was a member of the Pierpont Presbyterian Church, where she served in many capacities over the years, like teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and serving as a deacon and an elder. Mrs. McMillin also volunteered at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home for 10 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and collecting poems.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Faye) Fenton of Andover; brother, Jack Brayman of Glendale, Calif.; grandchildren, Michael Fenton (Kim Rouzer), Mark (Celeste) Fenton, Lisa (Robert) Jackson, Jeffrey Fenton, Scott Fenton and Todd Fenton; and nine great-grandchildren.
Meribah was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Fenton; her second husband, Robert McMillin; a son, Barney Fenton; a brother, Barney Brayman; and a sister, Dorothy Hall.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15th, at the Pierpont Presbyterian Church, 71 State Route 7, Pierpont, with Pastor Earl Vautin officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday, Sept. 14th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the CHILDS & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 96 State Route 7, Pierpont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Pierpont Presbyterian Church.
