GENEVA — Nellie G. Fiest, age 97, formerly of Andover and Dorset, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Geneva Village Retirement Center.
Born in Bristolville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Ida (Lowrey) Gillespie.
A homemaker, she was married to Leo F. Fiest on Feb. 20, 1928, in Jefferson, Ohio.
She loved flowers and gardening, and embroidering pillowcases for her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Herman (Louise) Fiest of Geneva; two daughters, Mary Hefner of Acworth, Ga., and Margaret Stasiak of Carrollton; 14 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo in 2002; a son, Leo in 1930; two daughters, Anna Fiest and Wilma Graham; and her sister, Jessie Scott.
Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Glenview Cemetery in E. Palestine, Ohio.
