EAST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. —
Daniel James Bowden, age 56, of East Springfield, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at his residence following a five year battle with cancer.
Born August 1, 1956, in Erie, he was a son of E. Lucille Bowden and the late George Bowden. He was a graduate of McDowell High School.
Dan was the past owner of Pest Patrol Exterminating. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. He loved the outdoors and had a tremendous knowledge of plants, trees and wildlife.
Dan is survived by his wife, Roberta L. Baughman Bowden; his mother, E. Lucille Bowden of Erie; a daughter, Rachel Bowden at home; a son, Matthew Bowden and his girlfriend Sara Lada of Conneaut, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Donna R. Baughman of East Springfield; three sisters, Eileen Cullen and Patty Hazlett, both of Erie and Anne Storey and her husband Bill of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, George Bowden and his wife Naphathai of Ouzinkie, Alaska and Tim Bowden of West Springfield; as well as several good friends, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11th, at BURTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St. East, Girard.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, in Burton’s All Faiths Chapel.
