If you are a fan of the hit show “Glee,” you may want to catch the next Brown Bag Concerts in Ashtabula and Jefferson.
The Ashtabula Arts Center’s Brown Bag Concert Series will continue its annual summer run on Wednesday and Thrusdaywith the local teen group The 5 Friends.
The 5 Friends is a group of talented teenagers from the Ashtabula area who love to sing Broadway tunes! Zach Adkins, 17, of Edgewood, Julia Hines,16, of Edgewood, Livi Johnson,17, of Lakeside, Emily Kline,16, of Edgewood, and Brandon Sweeney,15, of Lakeside. They will sing songs that have been performed on the new hit TV series “Glee,” along with songs from the musicals “Wicked,” “Next to Normal,” “Camelot,” “Rent,” “Spamalot “and more. They also entertain for luncheons, benefits, weddings, and other events.
Sponsored by the Star Beacon, Wednesday concerts are held at the North Park Gazebo in Ashtabula. Sponsored by Gazette Publications, Thursday concerts are held at the Village Park in Jefferson. Brown Bag concerts are held at noon and feature a different performer or musical group each week. Admission is always free.
Bring lawn chair or blanketand lunch.
In the event of inclement weather, the Ashtabula concerts are held at the First Presbyterian Church on Park Avenue. The Jefferson rain site is at the United Methodist Church, adjacent to the park.
The remaining Ashtabula performances will feature Bev Newbold on July 28, Martin Crombie on Aug. 4 and The Godfreys on Aug. 11.
The remaining Jefferson performances will feature Dennis Ford on July 29, Linda Fundis on Aug. 5, and The Godfreys on Aug. 12.
