ASHTABULA — An artist's exhibit and sale of works by The Lake Shore Artists will be run through May at the Ashtabula Arts Center, 2928 West 13th Street in Ashtabula.
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9-4. The exhibit can also be viewed before theater performances and during intermission. Admission to the exhibit is free.
An opening reception will be held today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Visitors can view the exhibit and meet many of the group members. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free. Lake Shore Artists started in November 1973 as the Professional Artist of Ashtabula County. As membership grew, the direction of the organization was changed and membership was opened to anyone interested in the arts.
The non-profit organization cutivates the visual arts through education, exhibitions, demonstrations, critique sessions and painting outings.
Anyone interested in joining can attend its monthly meeting on the second Friday of each month (except January and February) at the arts center.
Following a 6:30 p.m. business meeting demonstrations are held.
