'Crimes of the Heart' plays final two shows

ASHTABULA —  The G.B. Theatre presentation of “Crimes of the Heart” will play its two final performances on the Ashtabula Arts Center’s stage today and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Written by Beth Henley, the story of the three Magrath sisters is filled with a mix of comedy and drama as the Pulitzer Prize winning play winds its way in and out of their complicated lives. Lenny, the oldest, has failed in love. Meg, in the middle, has failed as a singer. And Babe, the youngest, has just failed to kill her husband when she shot him in the stomach.

Together the women await the death of their grandfather, who is living out his final hours in a local hospital. Cousin Chick only compounds their problems and a young lawyer who is desperate to keep Babe out of jail is just as desperate to keep her for himself.

The show is directed by Linda Fundis of Austinburg.

Walk-in, day of the show box office tickets are $12 adults and $11 seniors/students.

However, you can save $2 per ticket when you purchase in advance.
