— Chelsea Locy became the bride of Joshua Fowler in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 4, 2012, at Ashtabula First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Christine Bell officiated the 2:30 p.m. wedding. Music was provided by Mary Runyan of Kingsville.
Parents of the bride are Cindy and Herbert Locy III of Ashtabula and Laura and Kevin Fowler of Rock Creek.
The bride appeared in a Mori Lee gown made by Madeline Gardner designed of white Alencon lace on net with a mermaid style skirt and enhanced with a soft appliqué of sheer embroidered lace accented with a touch of sparkling beading throughout. The sweetheart neckline was offset with sheer cap sleeves. She wore her mother’s cross and carried a kerchief made from a World War II parachute that belongs to her great-grandmother, Irma Allen.
The groom was attired in a traditional black two-button tuxedo accented with a camouflage vest and matching tie.
Serving as the maid of honor was Katie Love of Moon Township, Pa. Flower girl was Gabrielle Locy of Ashtabula, niece of the bride.
Best man was Peter Janson of Rock Creek. Ushers were Andrew Locy of Ashtabula, brother of the bride, and Nathanael Fowler of Rock Creek, brother of the groom. Ring bearer was Caleb Fowler of Rock Creek, brother of the groom.
Among those receiving flowers were the bride’s grandparents, Helen and Edward Smith, Herbert and Carolyn Locy, all of Ashtabula; the bride’s great-grandmother, Irma Allen of Warren; the groom’s grandparents, Emerson Brinkman of Holgate and the late Mary Brinkman; Elinor Fowler of Sebring Village and the late Frank Fowler.
A reception for the couple was held at Lenox Community Center.
The bride graduated from Lakeside High School in 2009 and attended Hiram College. She is a student at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She formerly worked at Indian Creek RV Resort as a lifeguard and Winery at Spring Hill. The groom is a 2009 homeschool graduate. He was formerly employed as a brick tender with Crimson King Masonry and Construction Inc. He is serving in the Ohio National Guard and is also employed with Dawson Tree Service in Elmhurst, Ill.
Following a honeymoon in Chicago, the couple reside in Downers Grove, Ill.
