In celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Newsome of Ashtabula will be honored at a closed reception Sept. 29 at Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of God.

Bobby and Ival (Hamilton) were married Sept. 24, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The couple have two children, Deborah Smoak of Columbia, S.C., and Gregory Newsome of Ashtabula. They also have five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Newsome was employed as a state inspector with the Ohio Department of Transportation prior to his retirement in 1993. Mrs. Newsome was previously employed as a quality controller with Yoder Brothers Greenhouse and also worked at Carlisle’s Department Store prior to her retirement in 1984. They attend Lily of the Valley Church in Geneva.
