Wheeler-Distel

Lori Ann Wheeler became the bride of Jonathan L. Distel in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 8, 2012, at Conneaut Community Center. Ashley Christian officiated the 3 p.m. wedding. Readers were Jennifer Moyer of Dublin and Jennifer Maleskis of Buffalo, N.Y., cousin of the groom. Music was provided by D.J. Max.

Parents of the couple are Robert and Toni Wheeler and George and Dale Distel, all of Conneaut.

The bride appeared in a strapless ball gown in white designed with a fitted bodice embellished with beaded lace appliqués and satin corset, laced-up back. The skirt featured an organza overlay and chapel-length train with pick-ups accented with beaded lace appliqués.

The groom was attired in a black tuxedo with black satin vest and black tie against a white tuxedo shirt.

Serving her sister as matron of honor was Lisa Distel of Conneaut. Bridesmaids included Emily Macri of Port Orange, Fla.; Amanda Gilbert of Jerry City; and Alisha Caldwell of Galloway. Flower girl was Reagan Caldwell of Galloway.

Best men were Nick Distel of Strongsville and Curt Distel of Conneaut, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Jerry Mullins of Conneaut and Scott Potts of Perry. Ring bearer was Wyat Distel of Conneaut, nephew of the bride and groom.

Among those receiving flowers were the bride’s grandparents, Roy and Janet Woodworth of Conneaut and Robert and Loretta Wheeler of Haines City, Fla.; and the groom’s grandfather, Pat Savage of Andover.

A reception for the couple was held at Mount Carmel Community Center in Ashtabula.

The bride graduated from Conneaut High School and received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from The University of Toledo in 2006. She is employed as a registered nurse in the Labor and Delivery Department of River Region Medical Center, Vicksburg, Miss. The groom, also a Conneaut High School graduate, is serving with the United States Coast Guard. He is chief engineer on the Coast Guard Cutter Kickappo, homeported in Vicksburg.

Following a wedding cruise from New Orleans, La., to Mexico, the couple are residing in Vicksburg.
