Mr. and Mrs. Steve “Buddy” Candela of Ashtabula recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. A party in their honor was held Aug. 15 at their home.

“Buddy” and Frances (Long) were married Aug. 4, 1962, at St. Joseph Church of Ashtabula.

The couple’s children and their spouses include Steve and Caryn, Jim and Chris, Mike and Mari Candela, all of Ashtabula. They also have eight grandchildren.

Mr. Candela is retired from Ashtabula Area City Schools. He serves as a member of the AACS Board of Education. Mrs. Candela also retired from Ashtabula Area City Schools in 2008.
