D’Angelo-Roberts

Jacqueline D’Angelo became the bride of Capt. Joshua Roberts in an outdoor ceremony Sept. 8, 2012, at the home of the bride’s parents in Rock Creek. The Rev. Kenneth Roberts of Ashtabula, father of the groom, officiated the double-ring wedding. Mothers of the bride and groom, Debbie Roberts and Becky D’Angelo, lighted the unity candle to start the ceremony.

The bride was escorted by her father, Russell D’Angelo of Rock Creek.

Serving their sister as honor attendants were Susan Selman of Saybrook and Samantha Groves of Seven Hills. Flower girls were Brooke Prengler, niece of the groom, and Gabbi Selman, niece of the bride.

Best man was Kevin Savel of Mentor and groomsman was Steve Prengler of Gates Mills, brother-in-law of the groom. Ring bearer was Caleb Selman, nephew of the bride.

The bride is the granddaughter of Nancy Toth of Austinburg and great-granddaughter of Bessie Pierce of Austinburg; the late John Gregus and the late Russell and Alberta D’Angelo. The groom is the grandson of the Rev. Henry and Angie Roberts of Ashtabula; Robert and Judith Roberts of Warsaw, Ind.; and the late Rev. Luther Whitaker.

A reception for the couple followed in the backyard of the bride’s family home.

The bride, a 2003 graduate of Geneva High School, has a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Ohio Northern University. She is a sales director at Gannett media in Phoenix, Ariz. The groom graduated from Edgewood Senior High School in 2002 and received his bachelor of arts degree in education from Baldwin-Wallace College. He was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps in 2008 and is stationed at Camp Pendleton in California where he is a captain serving as a fire support officer.

The newlyweds plan to honeymoon this summer when the groom returns home from an overseas deployment.
