Mr. and Mrs. Earl Colby of Ashtabula are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.

Earl and Betty (Baker) were married by the bride’s father, the Rev. Curtis Baker, Sept. 13, 1947, in Elkhart, Ind.

The couple’s family includes two sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Jeanette Colby of Columbia, Md.; and Roger and Heather Colby of Fairview Park. They have one granddaughter, Catherine.

Mr. Colby worked as a plumber for Henry Livingston and later for his brother Harold Livingston. In 1970 Mr. Colby started his own business, Colby Plumbing and Heating of Ashtabula, which he operated until his retirement.
