Digging deeper into county sales tax proposal

Ashtabula County has more than $9.6 million outstanding in delinquent real estate tax bills, more than enough to plug the huge hole in the county’s 2010 budget.

However, there are many caveats that would prevent collection of this money from being a windfall for the county.
