FEATHER / Star Beacon THE OLD section of this barn at the corner of Hayes and McClelland roads in Wayne Township is where the weapons for the raid on Harpers Ferry were stored in the summer of 1859. A chance discovery of the weapons by children playing in the barn resulted in them being moved out that night and sent on their way to Harpers Ferry.
