THE 1909 JEFFERSON FOOTBALL TEAM that finished 6-2 under direction of first-year coach Andy Carnegie (back, left). Those Falcons defeated Rock Creek (22-0), Geneva (10-0), Conneaut (13-5), Geneva (6-5), Kingsville (88-0) and Grand River Institute (12-0) and came out on the short end against Ashtabula (26-0) and Conneaut (5-0). The odd point totals are mostly because touchdowns were worth five points in that day and age.
