THIS CHARMING image of the Dorset covered bridge records the clash of the automobile with a horse-and-buggy-era bridge, a conflict that would eventually lead to the bridge� demise in 1930. The need to cross Mill Creek in Dorset, Denmark and Jefferson townships led to at least seven covered bridges, four of them still spanning the stream.
