ADA ALDERMAN, teacher at the Alderman School in Windsor, was photographed in her sleigh in front of the school, which still stands but as a private residence. Students who lived north of the school had to cross Phelps Creek to get to class; a covered bridge, then later a swinging one, provided those forgotten crossings.
